Mr. Denninghoff founded HR Synergy in 1995 as a human resource and management-consulting firm.
The primary focus of the firm has been organizational development with emphasis on compliance,
performance, and change management. Among the firms clients are healthcare, sales, communications,
manufacturing, and aerospace companies.
Included are Alcoa, The Center for Naval Analysis, the Howmet Corporation, Alltel, TRW, Gateway, Anheuser Busch, LifeNet, The Marine Corp Times, Siemens VDO, The New York Times, and The County of York. He has also consulted with NASA and its partners on public and private consortiums and alliances such as the Small Aircraft Transportation System and the AGATE Alliance. Based on the AGATE results HR Synergy was retained by NASA to support the Small Aircraft Transportation System public and private consortium. HR Synergy was recently awarded Dunn and Bradstreet's highest possible Past Performance Evaluation rating as the result of an anonymous survey of twenty of our clients.
Mr. Denninghoff has been certified a Senior Professional of Human Resources by the Society for Human Resource Management. He has served on the Board of Directors of the Human Resource Certification Institute, the international accrediting body of the human resource profession. He was selected to participate in the SHRM Foundation's Thought Leader Conferences. He is a charter member of the Society's Consultants Forum. Mr. Denninghoff has served on the Board of Directors of the Hampton Roads Chapter of the Society as the President of the Chapter.
Mr. Denninghoff has lectured for The University of Maryland, Old Dominion University and The George Washington University. He has taught Public Administration, Business Law, Human Resource Management, and Employment Law. He presently lectures for The George Washington University Graduate School on Human Resource Development and the Law, Consulting Skills, and Strategic Human Resource Strategies and Troy University on Employment Law. He has made presentations and conducted workshops at the regional and national level.
Mr. Denninghoff graduated with honors from San Diego State University. He received his Master of Public Administration degree from Auburn University at Montgomery and was inducted into Phi Alpha Delta Honor Society. The University of San Diego awarded him the Juris Doctorate degree.
Dr. William "Bill" Heisler
Dr. Heisler is Associate Professor and Chair of the M.S. in Human Resources Management Program for
Troy University - Atlantic Region. He holds a Ph.D. and M.B.A. in Business Administration from
Syracuse University and a B.M.E. in Mechanical Engineering from Union College in Schenectady, New York.
Before coming to Troy University in 2003, he was employed by Newport News Shipbuilding (now a business sector of Northrop Grumman). While at NNS, Dr. Heisler held a variety of executive and management positions in human resources. Initially, he served as manager of management development and employee training programs where he was responsible for succession planning, management development, quality training, and computer training. Later, he advanced into director roles responsible for strategic human resources planning, leadership and change initiatives, strategic communication, and compensation and human resource information systems. He retired from NNS while serving as Director of Corporate Compensation.
Earlier in his career, Dr. Heisler taught at the University of Notre Dame and was Director of the Executive MBA program at Wake Forest University. He has also served as an adjunct faculty member for the Graduate School of Business at The College of William and Mary. At these institutions he has taught various graduate and undergraduate courses in human resources management, organizational behavior, principles of management, and business policy.
Dr. Heisler has published extensively in his field and has held several key leadership positions in the Academy of Management and the Southern Management Association. He is a member of the Academy of Management and the Society for Human Resources Management and a former member of the American Psychological Association. His areas of specialty are management development, performance management, executive compensation, human resources strategic planning, and succession planning.
Sheri Bias, MA, MBA, SPHR
Sheri Bias has worked with HR Synergy since 1999 and currently serves as a consultant designing HR and Training
systems for our clients. Previously, Sheri lead large-scale organization change and development efforts at Philip
Morris USA. Her focus was on performance management systems as well as enterprise succession planning efforts.
Additionally, she formerly held the lead training and development position with Anheuser-Busch Brewery in
Williamsburg where she was responsible for the training of the 1,100 employee workforce. Sheri has been a
management consultant with PriceWaterhouse Coopers where her primary focus was performance improvement for
Fortune 500 companies, and she developed and implemented Enterprise-wide Resource Planning (ERP) training solutions.
Ms. Bias also worked in various human resources positions at NASA Langley Research Center.
Ms. Bias has been certified a Senior Professional of Human Resources by the Society of Human Resource Management. Sheri has also served on the Item Writing Panel constructing test questions for the Human Resources Certification Institute SPHR and PHR examinations. She has also taught courses at University of Virginia, Saint Leo University, Hampton University, Christopher Newport University, South University, and Thomas Nelson Community College.
Ms. Bias earned her Master of Business Administration from the College of William and Mary and was inducted into Beta Gamma Sigma honor society for Collegiate Schools of Business. She was also awarded a Master of Arts in Education and Human Development with a concentration in Human Resource Development from George Washington University. Additionally, she completed a Master of Arts in Human and Organization Systems from The Fielding Graduate University and is currently pursuing her PhD.
